Casa Angelina’s New Cozy, Spacious Artist’s Loft

You might have read my piece about Casa Angelina and booked a night or two at this peaceful, secluded resort in Cabangan, Zambales. I hope you had fun at the place!

If you haven’t tried this resort yet and are still considering, then here's a piece of good news for you: the family owned-charming resort has opened its new cozy and spacious two-floor room called the Artist’s Loft.

The Cozy, Spacious Room

The very spacious room allows up to six guests. Mind you, it can even accommodate 10 pax. While rules are rules, I think you can negotiate with the very friendly owners to allow your group, if more than 6, to stay together in the loft.

The cozy, airconditioned room features two comfy beds and beddings with a pleasant smell, and a veranda with an ocean view—a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or a bottle of beer. The relaxing vibe and the soothing sound of the ocean waves make it a great place to disconnect from city life.

Got pets? Tag them along as the resort is pet-friendly.

Note that its toilet and bath are located downstairs. So if you ever find the need to use the toilet in the middle of the night, you'll have to go down to the first floor. It didn't bother me, though.

And oh, ever wondered why the name? Because owner-painted artworks are displayed in the room. Should you find these paintings fascinating and want to take home some of them, just inform the very hospitable owners, Roy and Joanne. They sell these paintings at P2,500 each or higher.

You can cook

Unlike the resort's other rooms where the kitchen and dining area are shared among four rooms' guests, your group will enjoy your own kitchen and dining area at the Artist’s loft.

It is even complete with kitchen essentials so you don't need to bring your own. You can also grill here!

Didn’t bring ingredients and no time to buy? You can always ask the very approachable owners to buy for you as they usually go to the market because the resort also prepares and serves food for guests. Sari-sari stores within reach are also your options.

If you don’t have time to cook, though, the resort serves tasty and home-cooked food at a reasonable price. If the resort's food choices are not your thing, restaurants in the area also deliver food. Just ask the owners for those restaurants’ contact details.

Savor your food at the wooden table and chairs in your own garden situated outside (food is not allowed in the room).

The beach

Cabangan is still less touristy so its beach is still untouched. While it isn't as white and pure as those in El Nido and Boracay, its long stretch of soft gray sand won’t disappoint.

Chances are, you will enjoy the beach by yourself as it is unfrequented and hushed. It is such a perfect spot to sunbathe and beach stroll.

A sunset chaser? The beach also offers a lovely sunset view. It is an ideal place to stargaze as well.

For some adrenaline rush, skimboarding is another thing to do here.

Others enjoyed their stays, too

Of course, our review will not be complete without asking the reviews of those who've stayed at the Artist’s Loft and other rooms. Here's what they have to say:

"We tried to look for a nice quiet place in Zambales but Casa Angelina caught my attention. Aside from the long stretch of uncrowded shoreline and away from any nightlife, we really enjoyed our stay in their Artist's Loft room. The room was so nice that you wouldn't want to leave a mess after. Beautiful and IG worthy room for an affordable rate." - @michaeljanv08

"Casa Angelina is a slice of paradise! Everything is so special and authentic about this place. Very relaxing, I have found tranquility and serenity during my stay. Worth the rate

The room’s rate is P4,500 per night for two pax and then P500 for each extra guest. For me, its amenities, peaceful vibe, untouched beach, and very accomodating hosts, to name a few, are absolutely worth the rate.

If it is not within your budget for your next holiday trip, fret not as the resort has other rooms to offer:

Ocean view room: 3,500 for 2 pax (P500 for each extra guest)
Garden view room: 3,000 for 2 pax (P500 for each extra guest)
Kubo (non-aircon) room: 2,500 for 2 pax
